POLICIES

General Policies:

Please try to always make an appointment with the same Pediatrician.  There may be times when your primary Pediatrician is not available; then a fully qualified Pediatrician from our group will assist you.

If you fail to show for your appointment or if you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment or if you fail to cancel your appointment a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment time;  you will be required to pay a fee prior to being rescheduled.

We use a computerized appointment reminder/confirmation system to help remind you of your appointment seven and one to two days prior to your appointment.  If you do not receive a reminder, you are still responsible to attend, reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Outdoor shoe removal is required upon entering our clinic to keep the clinic clean for your family.   Consider bringing your own indoor footwear such as slippers for your office visit. Wearing socks is better than bare feet.

Food/Drinks are not permitted in the clinic to maintain cleanliness.  Many children attending the clinic have food allergies.

Our clinic has easy handicap access for wheelchairs and handicap parking located behind the clinic.  Unfortunately, our office cannot accommodate strollers.  Please ensure you leave these in your vehicle or outside in front of our clinic.  This keeps the clinic clean for your family and allows families free movement.

Normally, enough medication is prescribed for your child until the next follow-up appointment.  We carefully recommend when your child should be seen again and the follow up appointment should be made before you leave our clinic.  This will allow for reassessment and adjustments in your child's medications.  We do not refill prescriptions by telephone or fax.

Uninsured Services:

Appointments are required for proper completion of forms, letters and doctor’s notes to your satisfaction.  A fee will be determined at the time of the visit.

Not all injections and immunizations are covered by Alberta Health.  You will be responsible for payment of these services.

The transfer of a Medical chart usually involves a fee determined by the size of the chart and the time to copy or fax the chart.  The fee follows guidelines from the Alberta Medical Association.

We only accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer for services not covered by Alberta Health at our office.

Other services:

We remove sutures.

Plantar warts are treated by prescription.  Cryotherapy is not available for plantar warts at our office.
